About the Role
Fully Integrated Real Estate firm is looking to hire an Accountant for their team. The Accountant should have experience with Bank reconciliations, Creating Financial Statements, and preparing Consolidated reporting.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
- Complete monthly financial procedures for an assigned portfolio of properties, including review of accrual & prepaid schedules, bank reconciliations & other balance sheet accounts, and schedules
- Oversee and maintain assigned properties' books on an ongoing basis working alongside onsite teams; review and approve payables, make timely debt payments, and maintain accurate resident reports/schedules
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting to fulfill and maintain loan compliance requirements
- Assist with operational budgeting, cash forecasting and analysis
- Collaborate cross-functionally; provide guidance and support to onsite property managers, AP/AR, and Investment Teams on financial reporting matters
- Lead audits and tax return filing processes by effectively managing external partners (e.g. tax preparers) and cooperating with auditors; produce accurate financial records (i.e., journal entries & financial transactions) and be a resource for internal and external stakeholders
- Suggest and implement improvements to current accounting and finance processes and procedures
- Provide mentorship and guidance to new hires and junior members of the accounting team
- Serve as a domain expert in GAAP principles and accounting in the real estate industry
- Manage ad hoc projects as needed
ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU OFFER
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- A minimum of 3 years of general accounting experience in a preparation role with 1 year of RE, PE, or AM accounting experience preferred
- Working knowledge of a real estate asset lifecycle and reporting needs of LP investors preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP principles
- Prior experience in public accounting firms supporting multiple clients preferred
- Proficiency in general accounting and budgeting and cash flow concepts
- Experience in a preparation role, handling bank reconciliations and detailed matters
- Preferred: CPA license, real estate tax, audit, funds and asset management knowledge
The Fair market Assumption for this role's base salary is between $100000 and $125000 annually.
The above salary range represents Cobalt's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards package this client provides to employees.
