A well-known property management firm in The Bronx is looking to hire a Senior Property accountant immediately. The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for accounting for a group of residential properties within a region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·Maintained the accrual books for Residential Properties. Includes online approval of invoice coding, recording journal entries, preparing work papers, and following monthly closing procedures.

·Assists management in the budget process. Includes interfacing with management for assumptions, preparing budget report templates for assigned properties, and inputting budgets into the accounting system.

·Operating reports for management every month, including written variance analysis.

·Assists management team in preparing for and attending monthly meetings to discuss selected financial information.

·Works closely with the accounts payable bookkeeper and management to ensure proper coding of costs and to understand operating results.

·Review all financial statements and make all adjustments that are deemed necessary

·Communicating with the Board Treasurer and Board President regarding the financial position

·Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.

·Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.

·Reconcile all General Ledger accounts for accuracy.

·Perform monthly/daily bank reconciliation on assigned accounts

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

·Bachelor's degree is required.

·A minimum of 5 years of Residential Property Accounting experience is required.

·Experience in MDS is preferred.

·Advanced proficiency in VLOOKUP and pivot tables

·Knowledge of essential tax treatment associated with residential real estate is a plus.

The fair market assumption for this role is between $125,000- $150,000 annually.

The above salary range represents Cobalt's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards package this client provides to employees.
