A Key Senior Payroll Manager opportunity has arisen with a growing, well-known property management firm. The Senior Payroll Manager oversees the organization's payroll department, ensuring accurate and timely employee compensation and benefits processing. This role involves supervising a team of payroll professionals, implementing payroll policies and procedures, staying current with payroll regulations, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and labor regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

·Supervise and manage a team of payroll specialists and administrators.

·Set performance goals, provide training, and conduct performance evaluations for team members. Implement best practices for payroll processing and continuously improve payroll processes.

·Oversee the accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees, including salaried, hourly, third-party, and contract workers. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

·Oversee payroll data for union and non-union staff Paid Time Off (PTO) and overtime entries.

·Respond to all payroll-related internal and external audits for workers' compensation, pension and retirement plans, etc.

·Prepare payment requests for garnishments, levies, insurance, and pension-related items.

·Run final reports before payroll submission, create and distribute requested payroll reports.

·Pull reports, analyze data to catch errors, and information on payroll data for management.

·Review and approve payroll calculations, deductions, and withholdings.

·Verify the accuracy of time and attendance data, ensuring proper application of overtime, bonuses, and commissions.

·Prepare and submit payroll tax reports, including W-2s, 1099s, and other required documentation.

·Respond to payroll-related inquiries from government agencies and auditors.

·Generate and review payroll-related financial reports for management and accounting purposes.

·Reconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts.

·Develop and update payroll policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.

·Communicate payroll policies to employees and ensure adherence.

·Manage relationships with payroll service providers, ensuring contract compliance and cost-effectiveness.

·Evaluate and select third-party vendors as needed.

Qualifications:

·Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.

·A Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.

·5-7 years of progressive experience in payroll management, with a demonstrated ability to lead a payroll team.

·In-depth knowledge of federal and state payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

·Union experience strongly desired

·Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now

·Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

The Fair market Assumption for this role's base salary is between $120,000 and $150,000 annually

The above salary range represents Cobalt's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards package this client provides to employees.
