Responsibilities

• Perform both conceptual and detailed estimating on architectural, and structural portions of projects ranging in size from $5M to $10M+
• Thoroughly reviews project bid documents and plans to get a full understanding of project scope.
• Provides trade breakdown to know what trades need to be called for pricing.
• Performs all trade take offs and unit costs in order to qualify/quantify subs prices for bid compilation.
• Updates weekly meeting minutes notifying of new plans with bid due dates, and updates on status of open bids.
• Fills out the Estimating Checklist for every bid. This checklist is stapled to the inside of the bid folder, and is completed by estimator and assistant estimator to confirm all bid package requirements.
• Work with the Chief Estimator in preparing conceptual estimates
• Produce quantitative surveys and accurate pricing for a project to support a Lump Sum Price
• Coordinate project documents for all delivery methods
• Obtain and present unit pricing data
• Responsible for outlining clarifications and qualifications within an estimate
• Provide backup for estimates to be used during analysis and review

Qualifications

• 7+ years minimum experience
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field preferred
• Ability to review/negotiate costs for all change orders and field orders.
• Technical/Software Proficient with Microsoft Excel, MS Office, MS Project, and additional Estimating/Construction applications
• Support negotiations for settling contract change modifications and potential claims.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
